GBWC: Trophy Kits

The "GBWC" 「ガンプラビルダーズワールドカップ」 (Gunpla Builders World Cup) is Bandai Co., Ltd.'s official Gunpla global tournament. It's consisting of 2 categories: open course (age 15+) and junior course (age 14 and younger) and is held yearly amongst Gunpla modelers. Top builders from countries such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, United States, Canada and Italy battle it out to compete for the title of "Gunpla World Cup Champion". The winners of these competitions don't only get certificates of their accomplishments, but also awards in the form of 'trophy kits'.

These one-off, highly limited trophy kits are awarded to the top 3 winners of both categories: 1st place/champion gets a gold-plated model kit, 2nd place receives a silver-plated version of the same kit and 3rd place gets a bronze-plated version. These kits are limited to only 2 pieces each: one for open course and one for junior course. These kits are not for sale and should really never find their way onto the collectors market. One of the more 'common' trophy kits were the Modeler's Cup kits.
