Finally it's here: photos of the rare "PG RX-78-2 Gundam Gold Version" 「RX-78-2 ガンダム 純金コーティングバージョン」built by Perfect Collector. This kit was given away during the "MG Special Mechanic Seal W Chance Campaign" 「ＭＧスペシャルメカニックシールＷチャンスキャンペーン」back in December 2002 as the grand prize and was awarded to 30 winners who participated in the contest during the campaign period. The other prize was a Perfect Grade Zaku II Red Metal Version.

This kit is without any doubt the most sought-after limited edition Gunpla kit in the world and is considered the “Holy Grail” amongst serious collectors. Since there are only 30 kits in existence, they don't often change hands. And of course, with such rarity comes a hefty price tag which will only increase over time. In today's market, this kit usually fetch close to 1 million Yen when they go to auction. Yes, collectors are very passionate about this kit.
